Sarota PR, on behalf of its client – Transcend company, organized an international Transcend Cup 2011 volleyball tournament for junior teams, which took place on September 9th, 2011 in Ustrzyki Dolne to celebrate the opening of a new sports hall in the town.
The tournament was a first step for Transcend to engage in junior-level sports and CSR activities in Poland. It was a strategic decision to choose Ustrzyki Dolne as the place for the event because of close distance to the borders of three countries and an opportunity to connect the tournament with official sports hall opening. These circumstances attracted extended media attention for the event and contributed to its increased prestige.
We established a set of promotional and PR activities in order to gain attention of the media and local community. These activities included the use of social media. We also prepared and sent a press release for selected media and an invitation to establish media partnerships which were accepted by selected major regional media. Beyond the sports aspect of the event, we focused on creating our client’s image as a global and socially responsible company also at a local level.
Transcend Cup 2011 gathered four junior volleyball teams including one from Ukraine and one from Slovakia. Prize giving ceremony was held on September 11th as a part of official new sports hall opening celebrations in the presence of local community and authorities representatives.
